Samsung India has announced the top three winning teams of its Solve for Tomorrow 2023 youth education and innovation competition. The winners are NIT Surat, Stemly, and Think, who have developed beach-cleaning robot Sweep, AI tool Stemly for women choosing STEM, and personal cooling device Kavach for outdoor workers. The teams received INR 1.5 crore to further develop their ideas.
Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, a CSR programme, aims to empower youth to solve real-life issues and transform lives with innovative ideas. The winning teams received certificates and trophies, Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Z Flip5 smartphone, and a cash prize of INR 100000.
The top 10 teams presented their projects, including an automated robot called Sweep for beach waste cleaning, a conversational AI tool for gender bias in STEM subjects, and a wearable device to prevent extreme heat and cold. The three winning teams were selected after a Grand Finale event in New Delhi, where they presented their prototypes to the Grand Jury.
