The Samriddhi Northeast 2026 – Entrepreneurs Summit, held at the NEHHDC campus in Guwahati, marks a pivotal moment for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Northeast India. Organized by the Northeastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC) in collaboration with TiDE and supported by the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), this two-day summit aims to connect entrepreneurs, startups, MSMEs, and artisan-led enterprises with buyers, policymakers, financial institutions, and ecosystem partners. Key initiatives for enterprise development, including incubation support and market linkage, were highlighted during the NEHHDC session. Pritam Dutta, Director of the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), delivered a special address stressing the significance of structured capacity building, innovation, and collaboration in fortifying the region’s enterprise landscape.
A highlight of the first day was the panel discussion moderated by Shri Anjan Chowdhury, focusing on “Building Sustainable Enterprises in the Northeast: From Local Strengths to Scalable Markets.” The panelists discussed essential themes such as market access, branding, export readiness, institutional support, and the necessity for innovation-driven business models for local artisans and MSMEs. Following this, TiDE conducted an Enterprise Enablement Session that covered topics on digital finance, compliance, and pathways to formalize businesses. An interactive workshop led by Shri Anjan Chowdhury taught participants effective business communication and pitching, while an Open Platform Brand Pitch allowed selected entrepreneurs to showcase their products to experts for valuable feedback.
The day was rounded off with an Open Discussion & Enterprise Clinics session that provided insights into finance, markets, branding, and compliance, concluding with key takeaways for participants. Concurrently, a live exhibition showcased startups, MSMEs, and artisan-led brands, fostering networking opportunities and buyer interactions. The summit has attracted a diverse group of participants, including entrepreneurs, startups, buyers, and financial stakeholders, underlining its importance as a collaborative platform for regional enterprise growth. The summit’s second day features a Buyer-Seller Meet aimed at enhancing direct engagements and market connections for Northeast-based enterprises. Ultimately, through Samriddhi Northeast 2026, NEHHDC and its partners aspire to cultivate a robust business ecosystem that leverages local strengths into scalable opportunities, enhancing Northeast India’s position as a center for entrepreneurship and innovation.
