RozgarMela 2.0 sees over 2,500 job offers as North Bengal youth shine

RozgarMela 2.0 concluded on a high note, with over 2,500 candidates securing job offers in a two-day employment drive that attracted more than 9,000 online registrations and 5,250 walk-in applicants. The event, hailed as one of the most successful employment fairs in North Bengal, featured 10,000+ job openings spanning sectors such as hospitality, aviation, manufacturing, retail, banking, healthcare, and services. More than 60 companies participated, including Quess Corporation, Mahindra Group, Devyani International, TajVivanta, Indigo, and local enterprises like SumiYashshree Group, demonstrating strong confidence in the region’s talent pool. The fair also included an exhibition on the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat RozgarYojana, helping candidates understand nationwide skill development initiatives.

Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla, MP (RajyaSabha) and President of the Darjeeling Welfare Society, emphasized the event’s long-term vision, stating, “Our commitment extends beyond these two days. We aim to continue supporting skill development and creating new avenues of growth for North Bengal’s youth.”

Where local recruiters reported increased inquiries for skilled professionals and a surge in applications from youth aspiring for opportunities in North Bengal. Market observers noted that the successful placement drive has reinforced confidence among companies considering expansion in the Northeast region.
