A complaint has been filed against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at Basistha Police Station in Guwahati, following allegations of making objectionable remarks during a political speech in Assam’s Sribhumi district. The complaint was lodged by BJP Assam spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sarmah. According to the complaint, Kharge made the remarks while addressing a public gathering at Nilambazar on April 7. It is alleged that during his speech, he described the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as “poisonous” and compared them to a “poisonous snake.”
The complaint also claims that Kharge called for the elimination of the BJP during his address. It states that such comments are derogatory and have hurt the sentiments of party members. The complainant has further alleged that the remarks could promote enmity between groups and disturb public peace, especially in Assam’s sensitive social and political environment.
Based on these allegations, the complainant has urged authorities to take legal action against the Congress leader. Police officials at Basistha Police Station have confirmed that the complaint has been received. They said the matter will be examined and further steps will be taken as per the law.
