Rohit smashed Australia’s bowling record with sixes

Australia lost with the bat of Rohit Sharma. Mitchell Marshera could not find an answer to his 92 off 41 balls. Despite playing well, Rohit missed the hundred for eight runs. Of course, he does not regret it. The Indian captain said that he would not change the style of play.

Rohit was man of the match against Australia. After the game, he said that this is their style of play in the current World Cup. They will not change it. Rohit said, “I have no regrets about not making a hundred. As I said earlier, 50 or 100 runs are not important to me. Our job is to keep the bowlers under pressure. Aggressive cricket is essential for him. That’s the way we play. We will not change that.”

Rohit used the power play. Played one big shot after another. The Indian captain said that he played intelligently against the bowlers. He said, “They were trying to bowl against the wind. You have to understand that bowlers will use intelligence. So you have to play wisely against them. That’s what I did. I was trying to play as many big shots as possible. Batting is easy on this pitch. The batters have confidence in themselves. It was seen in the match.”

Australia got off to a good start, chasing 206 runs. But Kuldeep Yadav turned the game around in the middle overs. He dismissed Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell. He gave up only 24 runs in 4 overs. Rohit said that Kuldeep was taken to the West Indies field. The India captain said, “I knew that Kuldeep would bowl well on the pitch here. He was not played because the Pacers were getting help in New York. But he is needed on the pitch here. He will have a big role in the next matches as well.”

The opponent in the semi-final is England. In the semi-finals of the 2022 World Twenty20, India lost to England by 10 wickets. Rohit does not want to remember old things. He doesn’t even want to look at who the opponent is. Rohit said, “We don’t want to do anything different. I will continue to play the cricket I am playing. There is no need to see who the opponent is. I told everyone to play freely. Don’t stress. We will be successful only if we play this kind of cricket.”
