Rajiv Gandhi University has marked a major milestone in its journey toward total digital transformation. On Wednesday, vice-chancellor in charge, Professor S.K. Nayak, officially launched the university’s new e-office system during a ceremony at the smart theater of the computer science and engineering department. The move is designed to modernize the institution’s administrative backbone and align it with global technological standards. In his keynote address, Professor Nayak emphasized that the e-Office system is more than just a software update; it is a strategic tool to ease workflows and enhance efficiency across every level of the university. Supporting this vision, Controller of Examinations Bijay Raji highlighted the system’s role in ensuring effective governance. While acknowledging that the transition phase might present initial hurdles, Raji expressed firm confidence that moving toward a paperless structure would ultimately provide long-term benefits for the entire institution. The financial and administrative leadership of RGU also underscored the necessity of this evolution. Finance Officer Otem Padung noted that in a rapidly changing world, adapting to emerging technologies is essential for optimizing resources and improving overall institutional output. Meanwhile, Registrar Dr. N.T. Rikam commended the efforts of Joint Director Tsering D. Megeji for spearheading the implementation. Dr. Rikam appealed to the university staff to embrace the change with confidence, reassuring them that the initiative aims to simplify their daily tasks rather than complicate them. Addressing the gathering, Tsering D. Megeji framed the initiative as a collective institutional effort rather than a mere technical upgrade. He described the shift from physical files to a digital system as a reflection of RGU’s commitment to growth and adaptability. Crucially, Megeji noted that the project aligns with the central government’s e-governance frameworks. He stressed that the ultimate success of the system depends on the mindset and participation of all stakeholders, encouraging the university community to view the transition as a golden opportunity for professional growth. With the e-Office system now live, Rajiv Gandhi University sets a new benchmark for academic administration in the region, proving that tradition and technology can indeed go hand in hand.
