REVA University is bringing its successful dance production ‘Panchbaktram’ to Guwahati on Tuesday 20th December, 2022. The unique dance production will be held at Pragjyoti ITA Cultural Complex, MG Road, Machkhowa, Guwahati.
The Panchabaktram dance production by the School of Performing Arts and Indic Studies aims to create awareness about resource reduction and gender equality. It highlights the five faces of Shiva – Sadasiva and elaborates them through significant stories from Indian mythology. Shiva’s five faces—Bamadeva, Aghora, Sadyojata, Tatpurusha, and Eshana—are embodied by the five elements or Panchabhutas of nature—earth, water, fire, air, and sky, respectively, representing the idea of creating the world with compassion. , dissolve with preservation, experience the unseen and embrace the infinite sky. The production shows how the five elements depend on each other with ease in their existence and movement to create harmony and balance in nature. The drama also highlights various ways to reduce the use of precious natural resources.
