Renault India on Monday launched the Triber 100PS, its first model based on the new Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP), expanding its seven-seater portfolio with a turbocharged powertrain and revised vehicle architecture. Prices for the new model range from ₹7.84 lakh to ₹8.99 lakh (ex-showroom) across Evolution, Techno and Emotion variants.
Powered by a 1.0-litre Turbo TCe 100 petrol engine, the Triber 100PS produces 100 PS and a segment-leading 180 Nm of torque. Renault said the vehicle delivers a certified fuel efficiency of 21 kmpl. The company has also introduced a new Renault Engine Management System, revised thermal management, structural enhancements, suspension geometry, anti-roll bars, MTV damper technology and dedicated vehicle-dynamics tuning.
The Triber 100PS retains the model’s modular five-, six- and seven-seat configuration, Easy-Fix third-row seats, slide-and-recline second row and up to 625-litre boot space with five seats. It also offers 182 mm ground clearance and 23 litres of interior storage.
In the Guwahati market, the Triber 100PS could attract family buyers seeking a compact seven-seater with higher power, fuel efficiency and flexible seating. Its sub-four-metre dimensions and 1.0-litre petrol engine also retain the small-car GST advantage, potentially strengthening its appeal in the price-sensitive Northeast market.
The vehicle comes with six airbags and 21 safety features as standard, while higher variants offer an eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, wireless charging, rain-sensing wipers and TPMS. Renault said more than 2.5 lakh Triber units have been sold in India.
