Renault Duster strong hybrid delivers 29 km/l, bookings open at ₹21,000

Renault India on Friday announced an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 29 km per litre for its new Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160, ahead of the SUV’s official market debut on October 17, 2026. Bookings opened on October 9 for ₹21,000 through the company’s official website and authorised dealerships across India.

The new Duster combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine, two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery, producing a combined output of 160 PS. Its multi-mode transmission automatically manages the petrol engine and electric motors according to driving conditions. The system recovers energy during braking and deceleration, while the battery charges during driving without requiring an external charging connection.

The strong-hybrid model is positioned as an alternative for customers seeking diesel-like performance and fuel efficiency in an SUV. Renault said the vehicle combines everyday versatility with lower fuel consumption.

Francisco Hidalgo, vice-president, sales and marketing, Renault Group India, said the introduction of the company’s E-Tech strong-hybrid technology from Europe marked a significant step in its electrification journey in India.

The Duster strong hybrid E-Tech 160 will be the first E-Tech model introduced in India under Renault’s futuREady roadmap. The company is scheduled to unveil the SUV in full and officially launch it in the Indian market on October 17.
