Xiaomi’s Redmi on Monday launched a new budget smartphone in India. Called Redmi Note 9, the new phone will join the current line up that features Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
Redmi Note 9 will go on the first sale on July 24. The phone will be available on Mi.com and Amazon India. It will also be available offline. The 4GB+64GB model is priced at ₹11,999. The top-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will be available for ₹14,999. There is also a 4GB+128GB variant, which is priced at ₹13,999.
Redmi Note 9 features
Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 9 looks identical to other smartphones in the Note 9 series. It has a punch-hole camera on the top left corner on the front. It has a glass back panel which houses a square-like quad-camera setup. Another highlight of the phone is the large 5,000mAh battery which is said to deliver over two days of back up. It also supports reverse charging. The phone comes in Aqua Green, Pebble Grey and Arctic White colour options.
Redmi Note 9 specifications
Redmi Note 9 comes with a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with 450 nits brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has a splash-proof nano-coating.
The smartphone features as many as four rear cameras. The setup includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.79 aperture), 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor (118-degree field of view), 2-megapixel macro sensor, and 2-megapixel depth camera (autofocus). The phone also comes with a Pro Video mode. It has a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.
For performance, Redmi Note 9 banks on MediaTek’s gaming-focused Helio G85 octa-core processor clocked up to 2.0Ghz. It also has MediaTek HyperEngine for superior performance. The chipset is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
Redmi Note 9 is powered by a 5,020mAh battery. It comes with a 22.5W fast charger. Other key specifications of the phone include a fingerprint sensor, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C support.
