Xiaomi India on Tuesday launched the REDMI Note 17 5G, featuring the brand’s biggest-ever 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, a 120Hz TrueColour AMOLED display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. The company said the smartphone is designed to deliver up to three days of typical usage while retaining a slim 8.4mm profile.
The device supports 45W turbo charging, with the charger included in the box, along with 22.5W reverse wired charging. Its battery is rated to retain up to 80% health after 1,600 charging cycles. The 6.9-inch AMOLED display offers 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, up to 1,800 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate.
Powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 platform, the phone comes with up to 16GB RAM with memory extension, 2TB expandable storage and a 10,416 sq mm graphite cooling system. It features a 50MP AI dual rear camera and 8MP front camera.
The launch positions Redmi strongly in Kolkata’s competitive mid-range 5G smartphone segment, particularly for consumers prioritising battery capacity, display quality and long-term software support. The combination of an 8,000mAh battery and AMOLED display could strengthen its appeal among users seeking higher-end features without moving into flagship pricing.
The REDMI Note 17 runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 and gets four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. It also carries Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP65 rating.
The 6GB+128GB variant is priced at Rs 27,999, with an introductory price of Rs 24,999, while the 8GB+128GB variant is priced at Rs 30,999, with an introductory price of Rs 27,999. The introductory offer includes at Rs 3,000 instant bank discount on SBI Card, Axis Bank and Kotak Bank credit cards and EMI transactions.
The phone goes on sale from 12 noon on August 13 through mi.com, Amazon Specials and Xiaomi Retail.
