Xiaomi India has launched the REDMI 15A 5G, positioning the device as a reliable, everyday smartphone built for long usage and smooth performance. The new handset is designed to handle daily tasks such as streaming, multitasking and communication without compromising on efficiency. The REDMI 15A 5G comes with a 6300mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to two days on a single charge under heavy usage. It supports 15W charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging. The device features a 6.9-inch display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and brightness of up to 800 nits, along with Wet Touch Technology 2.0 and TÜV Rheinland certifications aimed at reducing eye strain.
Powered by an octa-core 5G processor, the smartphone offers dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 and advanced navigation support. It also includes a 32MP AI dual rear camera, an 8MP front camera, and audio output with up to 200% volume boost. Running on HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16, it promises four years of Android updates and six years of security support.
The launch is expected to strengthen Xiaomi’s position in the Kolkata smartphone market, where demand for budget-friendly 5G devices with strong battery life remains high. With competitive pricing and long-term software support, the REDMI 15A 5G is likely to appeal to students, young professionals and value-conscious buyers in the region. The smartphone is priced starting at Rs 12,999 for the base variant, with higher variants at Rs 14,499 and Rs 16,499. It will be available from April 3 via Flipkart, mi.com and authorised retail stores.
