RDC 2026 Returnees Honoured: Assam Government Felicitates NCC Cadets

The Assam government hosted a significant felicitation ceremony at the Rudra Singha Sports Complex in Dispur to honor NCC cadets returning from the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 in New Delhi. With the largest-ever contingent from the NCC Northeastern Region (NER), consisting of 176 cadets, Assam contributed 129, including 45 members of the All-Girls Band from St Francis School, Guwahati, whose performances were highly praised and brought pride to the state. The NER contingent excelled at the camp, winning significant awards, including the Best Group Song for their original piece “Vatan,” which earned them the Cultural Competition Trophy. Cadets showcased their skills in prominent events, with twelve participating in the Kartavya Path Parade, six in the Special Guard of Honour, and sixteen in the Prime Minister’s Rally Parade. A highlight was Senior Under Officer Kuki Rabha being selected as the Parade Commander for the Guard of Honour in the Sword Drill. Individual recognition included Cadet Priya Kumari receiving the Chief of Army Staff Medallion and Cadet Sragvi Hazarika the AWWA Young Achievers Award, alongside seven other cadets awarded DGNCC Medallions and commendation cards for their distinguished performances. Chief Guest Ankur Bharali commended the cadets’ discipline and commitment, emphasizing the NCC’s role in developing responsible citizens. The event concluded with encouragement for the cadets to uphold the values of leadership, service, and patriotism in their future endeavors.
