The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be functioning on January 20 (Saturday) as trading will remain closed on account Ram Mandir’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony day on January 22.
The Maharashtra government declared Jan 22 a holiday in connection with the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, an official said on Friday.
In a circular released by the NSE, mentioned that the currency derivative segment will remain closed on January 22.
“In partial modification to Exchange circular reference no. 59917 dated December 26, 2023, the Exchange hereby notifies Monday, January 22, 2024 as a trading holiday on account of a public holiday declared under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881,” said NSE in its press release on Friday.
