Indian dancer Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya Veda died of cancer on 28th January and her last rites were held at Oshiwara Cemetery in Andheri.The mortal of the decease was carried by Rakhi and her brother Rakesh, to the cemetery hall for performing the last rites. Her friends from the fraternity, Ehsaan Qureshi , Rajiv Adatia, Rohit K Verma , Rashami Desai, Sangeeta Kapure and Farah Khan, reached at the cemetery to give strength to the dancer attend the funeral.
While performing the last rites, Rakhi shared her last message and said, “I would like to thank everyone. Farah ma’am, Shilpa ma’am everyone for taking care of my mother. I didn’t have a strong financial condition for her treatment but everyone helped me. She was a strong and brave woman, she fought cancer bravely. I pray to Jesus that cancer gets eradicated from this country. Till the end my mother was screaming, ‘Dard ho raha hai, kidney mein, body mein, sir mein’ (It is painful everywhere).”
After performing the last rites, both the brother and sister carried the coffin for burial and showered love with all the flowers at her grave. Rakhi’s husband Adil stood there with Rakhi and Rakesh like a pillar of strength.
