Rajasthan Royals are reinventing the concept of fandom by transforming supporters into active collaborators within the franchise. Embracing an open-sourcing philosophy, the Royals are engaging their fans to influence various aspects of the organization, including music, match strategies, and design. As part of their initiative, Hunar Manch Season 2, the franchise is inviting design students, young creatives, and graphic designers from across India to submit concepts for the 2026 Pink Promise Jersey, which is a prominent symbol of their purpose. The selected design will serve as the official on-field jersey for the Pink Promise Match, offering fans a unique opportunity to witness their creation featured prominently during the high-profile IPL event.
The movement toward fan collaboration began in 2025 with HunaRR Manch Season 1, focused on music, where over 30 aspiring musicians from Rajasthan were provided a platform to perform their original works at the Royals’ home games. This initiative helped several artists gain exposure, enabling them to perform on notable platforms such as India’s Got Talent, host ticketed shows, and establish their own performance careers.
Furthering this ‘fans-in-the-room’ approach, the Royals included their supporters in cricketing decision-making through the SupeRR SelectoRR Hackathon, where data analytic fans contributed to the auction strategy discussions. Three chosen fans were afforded the remarkable opportunity to attend the IPL auction, meet Head Coach Kumar Sangakkara, and deliver their insights live at the venue, thereby stepping into a unique inner circle of the franchise.
By merging elements of art, entertainment, and a sense of purpose with sports, Rajasthan Royals are crafting a franchise that champions participation over passivity. Fans not only follow the franchise’s narrative but are also given the ability to actively shape and contribute to it, thus fostering a deeper connection between the team and its supporters.
