Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese colleague Fumio Kishida had extensive discussions about strengthening the India-Japan strategic alliance for a peaceful, secure, and prosperous post-Covid world. The Japanese prime minister landed in Delhi at around 8 a.m. on Monday for a roughly 27-hour visit to strengthen bilateral ties in a number of areas and seek convergence between India’s G20 presidency and Japan’s G7 leadership to solve numerous global issues. Prior to the discussions, officials stated that the main objective on the bilateral front would be to improve cooperation in sectors such as high technology, commerce and investment, and defence and security.
