Director and actor G Marimuthu, who was seen in Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Jail, passed away in Chennai on Friday morning. He was 57 years old.
Marimuthu faced a massive cardiac arrest while working early in the morning in Chennai. He was dubbed in the studio for her upcoming film when he felt uncomfortable and broke down. He went to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Marimuthu made his acting debut in 1999 with Vaali starring Ajith, Simran and Jyotika and there was no looking back. After that, he worked in dozens of movies as an actor. Known for his quirky acting style, Marimuthu has entertained South audiences not only on the silver screen but also in television serials. He is one of those artists who has shown success in movies as well as on TV.
Marimuthu also tried his luck in directing and wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for the 2008 film Kannum Kannum starring Prasanna and Udhayathara. Marimuthu will also be seen in crime-action drama Red Sandalwood which hits theaters today. Marimuthu, who was best known for his roles in Jailer, Doctor and MGR Magan, is survived by his wife Bhagyalakshmi and two children, apart from an incredible film legacy.
