Polymatech Electronics, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, has announced the establishment of its second plant in India, set to be located in Nava-Raipur, Chhattisgarh. This state-of-the-art facility will focus on the production of advanced semiconductor chips and base stations for 5G and 6G technologies, marking a significant step toward enhancing India’s capabilities in the global semiconductor and telecom sectors.
The Chhattisgarh government has extended strong support to this venture, offering a 40% capital subsidy as part of its progressive industrial policy. Polymatech, in collaboration with Simply RF from the UK, will produce semiconductor chips using cutting-edge Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, crucial for next-generation telecommunications. The facility is expected to involve an investment of ₹1,143 crore, highlighting the company’s commitment to India’s technological future.
Speaking at the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect 2024 event, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his excitement about Polymatech’s expansion, emphasizing the state’s role in fostering innovation. The new plant will significantly enhance Chhattisgarh’s position in the semiconductor manufacturing landscape. In Kolkata, this development is expected to positively impact the regional telecom infrastructure, with enhanced access to cutting-edge technology potentially boosting local 5G and 6G networks, offering more robust and efficient solutions for businesses and consumers alike.
