Joining Thane and Diva, additional two railway lines has been inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi. He will also flag off two suburban trains of Mumbai Suburban Railways.
These have been built at the approximate cost of Rs 620 crores. It additionally includes 1.4 kilometers long rail flyover, 3 significant extensions and 21 minor bridges.
According to the release issued by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Kalyan is the main junction of the Central Railway. The traffic that is coming from the North and Southern side of the nation converge at Kalyan and move towards the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Out of the four tracks between these, two tracks were utilized for slow nearby trains and the other two tracks for quick neighborhood trains – Mail Express and Goods trains. To sort out the suburban and long-distance trains, two additional tracks were planned.
