Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the graduates of the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) at the Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh 2024. In a message, PM Modi emphasized India’s rise as a global talent powerhouse, celebrating the achievements of over 8 lakh students across 15,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 33 National Skill Development Institutes (NSTIs). The central ceremony, held at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi, was led by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and live-streamed to more than 19 lakh students nationwide.
The Prime Minister praised the graduates’ role in building a self-reliant India, highlighting the government’s commitment to industry-relevant skill training. A recent All India Trade Test for over 19 lakh students saw an impressive 87.34% pass rate, while the CITS achieved 84.73%.
The event featured notable speakers, including para-athlete Ms. Preethi Pal, inspiring students with her resilience. MSDE also launched an AI curriculum and new learning resources for ITI instructors, aligning skills with industry demands. Minister Chaudhary urged local industries to engage with ITIs to foster a workforce ready for national growth, reinforcing India’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
