Pioneer India, a subsidiary of global automotive electronics leader Pioneer Corporation, officially inaugurated its new Research & Development (R&D) center in Bengaluru, reinforcing its commitment to advancing automotive and mobility technologies. The state-of-the-art facility focuses on cutting-edge solutions including automotive vision systems, advanced driver assistance (ADAS), digital cockpits, AI-powered mobility platforms, and connected two-wheeler technologies. Designed to support OEMs, aftermarket, and B2B sectors like fleet operators and insurers, the center aims to accelerate product development tailored for both Indian and global markets. “India’s talent and mobility ecosystem make Bengaluru an ideal hub to lead innovation in connected and intelligent vehicle systems,” said Shiro Yahara, Pioneer Corporation’s President & CEO.
The Bengaluru center complements Pioneer’s existing R&D site in Gurugram, with plans for local manufacturing by 2026, completing its integrated value chain in India. The facility includes specialized labs for camera testing, embedded systems, and software validation, promoting agile product development. In Kolkata, this expansion bodes well for the region’s growing automotive aftermarket and digital mobility segments. Pioneer’s innovative offerings are expected to enhance vehicle safety and infotainment solutions in the city, which remains a significant hub for automotive sales and service in eastern India.
With aggressive hiring underway, Pioneer India is set to scale its engineering workforce, further embedding itself in India’s dynamic automotive landscape and driving its vision of “Creating the Future of Mobility Experiences.”
