Peerless Hospital Calls for Preventive Healthcare and Safe Roads

Marking the beginning of the New Year, doctors at Peerless Hospital Guwahati have appealed to the public to adopt practical health resolutions aimed at reducing medical emergencies and improving long-term well-being.

Emphasising preventive healthcare, specialists advised people to prioritise annual health check-ups for the early detection of lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart ailments. Regular monitoring of key health indicators, they said, can help prevent serious complications at later stages.

The hospital also highlighted the growing importance of mental health awareness. Doctors encouraged individuals to pay attention to emotional well-being, manage stress effectively and seek professional help when needed. Mental health, they stressed, should be treated on par with physical health.

Focusing on women’s health, the advisory underscored the need for routine screenings and timely medical consultations to address common but often neglected conditions such as anaemia, thyroid disorders and hormonal imbalances.

“The New Year offers an opportunity to take greater responsibility for one’s health. Simple measures like regular check-ups, responsible driving and mental health awareness can prevent many emergencies. Understanding the importance of the Golden Hour and public cooperation during emergencies can save lives,” said Dr Gautam Kr Das, CEO of Peerless Hospital Guwahati.

Road safety formed a key component of the hospital’s advisory. Doctors urged motorists to strictly avoid drink-and-drive, wear seatbelts and helmets, and adhere to traffic rules. The hospital reiterated the significance of the Golden Hour—the critical first hour after a serious injury or medical emergency—during which prompt medical intervention can be life-saving.

The public was also appealed to cooperate during emergencies by giving way to ambulances and emergency vehicles, with doctors noting that collective awareness plays a vital role in effective emergency response.

Through its New Year Health Resolution advisory, Peerless Hospital Guwahati reaffirmed its commitment to promoting preventive healthcare, road safety and timely emergency care for the community.
