Over 60 students join ABVP’s Prant Abhyas Varg in Sikkim

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Sikkim-Darjeeling Prant, organised a three-day student training camp — the Prant Abhyas Varg — at Janta Bhawan in Gangtok. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from over sixty students representing various colleges and universities across the state. The camp offered an immersive experience through lectures, group discussions, ideological sessions, and cultural activities, all designed to cultivate discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of cultural and social awareness among students. Organisers emphasised that the purpose of the training was not limited to academic growth but extended to nurturing character, civic sense, and emotional bonding with society and the nation.

One of the key speakers was Ramesh Kandel, National Organizing Secretary of Pragyaik Vidyarthi Parishad, Nepal, who inspired students with his message on “bhakti nirman” — the development of a deep emotional connection to one’s duties, society, and environment. He urged students to look beyond personal achievements and actively contribute to nation-building.Other eminent speakers included Apaksu Sekher Sail, Regional Organizing Secretary of ABVP East Zone, who highlighted the importance of unity and discipline among students. Chain Singh Rawat, State Organizing Secretary, encouraged youth to take proactive roles in resolving local issues, while Prof. Bhoj Acharya, State President, spoke on the need to uphold cultural identity amid rapid development. State Secretary Sameeran Karki and Dr. Pawan Kumar Ray, Gangtok District Head, also addressed the gathering, focusing on youth leadership and responsibility.

Adding further depth to the camp, Nandan Kumar, Sikkim Vibhag Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), led an impactful session on “Panch Parivartan” or five transformations — personal, social, educational, national, and environmental. He called on students to live disciplined lives rooted in purpose, urging them to lead by example in their communities.
