Organic India pushes health-first festive foods with sugar-free plum cake recipe for Christmas

As Christmas celebrations gather pace across the country, Organic India has shared a festive baking recipe that offers a healthier twist to a traditional favourite. The company has introduced an eggless plum cake recipe made without refined sugar, using Organic India Jaggery powder as the natural sweetener. The recipe has been crafted by chef Deepak Gore, formerly associated with Venky’s India Pvt Ltd and Godrej Tyson Foods Ltd. According to the company, the initiative is aimed at encouraging conscious festive eating while retaining the familiar taste of Christmas desserts. The cake blends dried fruits soaked in orange juice, mixed nuts, warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, and jaggery powder, offering a balance of flavour and nutrition.

Organic India said the recipe reflects its commitment to natural ingredients, authenticity, and safe food practices, especially during festive occasions when sweet consumption tends to rise. The company highlighted that jaggery provides a more wholesome alternative to refined sugar, aligning with growing consumer demand for cleaner labels and mindful eating.

In Guwahati, retailers and home bakers have reported a steady rise in demand for jaggery, dry fruits, and baking ingredients during the Christmas season. Local organic stores and supermarkets say health-conscious consumers are increasingly looking for sugar-free or naturally sweetened festive options, indicating a positive response to such recipes in the city’s evolving food market. The recipe is intended for home bakers and festive hosts looking to blend tradition with healthier choices this Christmas.
