The foundation stone for the Haflong Town Water Supply Project under AMRUT 2.0 was set on the occasion of ASHA Convention Day, along with the opening of a newly built Deluxe Paying Cabin with 10 beds at Haflong Civil Hospital. DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai, BJP Dima Hasao District President, MAC and DHAC Vice-Chairman Dhriti Thaosen, Executive Members Samuel Changsan, Donpainon Thaosen, and Probita Johori, MACs Monjoy Langthasa, Ratan Jarambusa, Ramgalungbe Jeme, and John Phoitong, the DHAC Principal Secretary, and the Joint Director of Health Services, Dima Hasao district were present at the event.
Speaking to the audience, the dignitaries stated that the Haflong Town Water Supply Project would guarantee that the town’s citizens would have improved access to safe drinking water, and that the new luxurious paying cabin would greatly enhance medical facilities for patients. Songpijang AAM, Hangrum AAM, and Raotilla AAM, the district’s top three Accredited Activist Mobilizers (AAM) according to the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council’s “A Visit” evaluation, were honored on this special day. Scooters were given to the top four ASHA employees from the district’s rural areas in appreciation of their exceptional efforts.
18 ASHA employees were also chosen to receive extra rewards for a six-month period. Four retired ASHA employees were also given one-time financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each as a thank you for their hard work. Speaking at the event, the speakers claimed that the programs demonstrated the government’s dedication to enhancing basic public facilities and fortifying the healthcare system. They went on to say that these initiatives would help the district’s residents in the long run and strengthen public confidence in government.
