OMRON Healthcare urges nebulizer use for respiratory management amid festive air quality concerns

As the festive season progresses and winter approaches, OMRON Healthcare India emphasizes the need for effective respiratory management in light of rising air pollution and seasonal health challenges. The festive period often leads to increased particulate matter and smog, exacerbating conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Recent findings from the Seasonal Waves of Respiratory Disorders (SWORD) study 2022 indicate a troubling rise in respiratory issues during this transitional season. The study shows that asthma cases increase from 26.5% in summer to 31.4% in autumn, while COPD cases jump from 8.1% in summer to 21.1% in winter. Furthermore, respiratory tract infections (RTIs) and tuberculosis cases also surge during these months, highlighting the urgent need for awareness and proactive management.

Tetsuya Yamada, Managing Director of OMRON Healthcare India, notes that nearly 70 million people in India suffer from respiratory diseases, with asthma-related deaths rising sharply from 120,000 in 1990 to over 200,000 today. In this context, nebulizers become essential tools for managing respiratory conditions. Yamada explains, “OMRON nebulizers are designed to deliver medication directly to the lungs for rapid relief.” In Kolkata, the demand for respiratory care products is expected to rise, as consumers seek reliable solutions to combat the effects of pollution during the festive season. OMRON aims to equip individuals with user-friendly devices to manage their health effectively under medical supervision.
