During a press conference at the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) Officers’ Conference Room, Hon. Executive Member (i/c Medical) Samuel Changsan announced that a Mega Health Camp would be organized on October 15, 2025. The North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) organized the health camp with the goal of providing the general population with comprehensive and inclusive healthcare services, with a focus on children and adolescents with long-term or chronic illnesses. The N.L. Daulagupu Sports Complex in Haflong will host the event, where locals can receive free medical care, early diagnosis, and professional counsel from medical specialists.
Emphasizing the scope of the program, EM Changsan stated that while patients of all ages are welcome, the camp would treat 59–60 different types of ailments, especially those under the age of 18. Medical services will be provided to all attendees at no cost. The Health Department has set up free transportation for attendees to guarantee accessibility. There will be special transportation for 862 designated patients and their guardians. The Health Mela is expected to be an educational and engaging occasion that will increase community involvement in healthcare programs throughout Dima Hasao.
