NSDC International to train 1 lakh caregivers for global healthcare roles

NSDC International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has set an ambitious goal to train one lakh caregivers to meet the growing global demand in the healthcare sector. With the shortage of healthcare professionals impacting service delivery worldwide, NSDC International is addressing the gap by equipping Indian youth with specialised healthcare, soft skills, and language training. So far, thousands of skilled Indian caregivers have been placed in countries such as Germany, Japan, the UK, and Israel, with recent recruitment by major Japanese and German firms offering attractive salaries—testament to the quality of training provided. The organisation has also partnered with nations including the USA, Canada, Australia, and GCC countries to bridge workforce shortages in healthcare.

In Guwahati, this initiative is expected to open significant employment opportunities for youth aspiring to work abroad. Local training centres have begun aligning their curriculum with NSDC International’s global standards, drawing increased interest from aspiring healthcare workers in the region.

Alok Kumar, CEO, NSDC International, said, “As the world today strives to accomplish the SDG-3- Good Health and Wellbeing, we, at NSDC International, are leaving no stone unturned to facilitate global action towards accomplishing universal health coverage. We have not only designed tailored programmes but also actively explored partnerships opportunities with national and global institutions to train candidates with relevant skills to mitigate healthcare challenges. We have successfully deployed thousands of skilled caregivers across the world and are steadily revising our targets, accelerating our actions, and ensuring seamless integration of skilled professionals into the healthcare ecosystem.”
