NSDC International strengthens global skill partnerships during delegation to Germany

NSDC International, a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), recently led a delegation to Germany to explore cross-border skill partnerships aimed at preparing the global workforce for the rapidly evolving demands of industries. The visit included participation in the prestigious OAV Conference in Hamburg, attended by delegates from India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The key focus of the visit was to bridge the gap between industry requirements and educational providers globally, with an emphasis on Germany’s leadership in workforce development. NSDC International CEO, Shri Alok Kumar, highlighted the importance of fostering new-age skills to meet the needs of industries worldwide, stating, “Our collaboration with German industries exemplifies our commitment to empowering Indian talent and addressing global workforce shortages.”

The delegation engaged in multiple roundtable discussions, collaborating with German employers and training providers to refine India’s skilling ecosystem. They also visited a leading railway infrastructure academy, reinforcing the need for hands-on training in addressing the 98,000 vacancies in Germany’s railway sector. In Guwahati, the growing need for skilled professionals, both locally and globally, is becoming increasingly important. As industries expand, there is a demand for more trained individuals in sectors like IT, healthcare, and engineering. Collaborations like NSDC’s with global partners can offer local youth the skills needed to compete in the international job market.
