The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with HCL Tech to address the skills gap in the tech and engineering sectors, in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering India’s youth through digital technology and AI. The partnership aims to promote technology adoption among diverse learners and explore new global markets.
The agreement was exchanged by Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and C Vijayakumar, CEO & Managing Director, HCL Tech. This partnership comes shortly after the recent G20’s Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) meeting, which achieved consensus on deliverables in three discussion areas: Digital Skilling, Digital Economy, and Digital Public Infrastructure.
NSDC and HCL Tech are partnering to enhance digital learning and assessment in both B2B and B2C courses. The partnership also includes collaboration on new products and programs to enhance talent with flexibility and scale. Praising this initiative, Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC, said, “This is a significant step towards moving from qualification-based hiring to skill-based hiring. Both parties will also collaborate to offer reskilling, upskilling online courses to prepare for opportunities in a dynamic job market.”
