The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have forged a strategic partnership. This alliance, announced today, seeks to empower individuals worldwide by equipping them with essential competencies and qualifications, thereby enhancing employability and fostering sustainable economic growth.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Mr. Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO and MD of NSDC, and Mr. Sangheon Lee, Director of Employment Policy at ILO, solidifying the commitment of both organizations to leverage their strengths and expertise in talent development. Central to this partnership is the adoption of the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), a digital platform aimed at streamlining skill development initiatives for enhanced efficiency, accessibility, and global impact.
Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, lauded the partnership, emphasizing its potential to digitize systems and processes, thereby making skill development more accessible and impactful globally. The collaboration aims to facilitate public-private partnerships, knowledge exchange, and the development of micro-credentials to boost employability and drive impactful change in the evolving job market.Ved Mani Tiwari expressed enthusiasm for the partnership’s potential to align Indian qualifications with global skills standards, opening up opportunities for Indian youth in the global workforce.
