NSDC, AIU join hands to revolutionize academic credential verification in India

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to streamline academic credential verification and integrate skill-based education into higher learning institutions across India. The collaboration will establish a technology-driven verification system leveraging the National Academic Depository (NAD) and institution-level data. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, curb fraudulent practices, and improve international trust in Indian academic and skill credentials. The NSDC Trust Platform will serve as the backbone for authentication, allowing universities and employers to verify qualifications efficiently.

ShriVed Mani Tiwari, COO (Officiating CEO), NSDC & MD, NSDC International, stated, “This partnership with AIU reflects NSDC’s mission to empower India’s workforce by integrating academic and skill-based credentials into a transparent, technology-driven framework.” AIU President Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak added that the initiative would equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fostering a future-ready workforce.

The partnership is expected to significantly impact academic institutions and job markets across India, including Guwahati. With a growing demand for skilled professionals in sectors such as IT, healthcare, and finance, Guwahati’s market stands to benefit from a streamlined verification process, enhancing employability and industry credibility. Additionally, a global academic equivalence platform will be introduced to compare Indian qualifications with international degrees, further solidifying India’s reputation as a trusted provider of skilled talent.
