Norway, situated in northern Europe will help fund India’s ‘Hunger Project’ and will also assist in strengthening women leaders to protect the environment and promote food security in the state of Uttarakhand.
The time period of the project will be of three years that is until September 26 with an estimated budget of ₹44.7 million, an official said.
The project will strengthen elected women representatives and federations by providing them specified training which will focus on strengthening van panchayats (forest councils) which in turn will provide food security and livelihood opportunities for marginalized communities.
