Northeast Frontier Railway GM Inspects Mariani–Simaluguri–New Tinsukia Section

Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, general manager of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), carried out a thorough Annual Safety Inspection of the Tinsukia (TSK) Division, encompassing the 152-kilometer Mariani-Simaluguri-New Tinsukia segment. In keeping with its ongoing commitment to enhancing operational safety, infrastructure dependability, and passenger amenities throughout its network, NFR conducted the inspection. In order to examine crew booking procedures, rest areas, and adherence to safety regulations, the NFR general manager started the inspection from Mariani by looking over the Crew Lobby and Running Room.

In order to enhance operational management and real-time monitoring, he also examined the recently installed Large Format Display system and reviewed work under the Automatic Block Signalling System. The station’s recently erected solar power plant was officially opened, demonstrating NFR’s dedication to green and sustainable energy projects. Shrivastava conducted a thorough examination of the signaling system at Nakachari, including the Relay Room, and examined how the Electronic Intrusion Detection System and other related safety systems operated. Additionally, he examined the non-interlocked Level Crossing Gate No. 102 (Engineering) and emphasized the importance of strictly adhering to safety procedures at level crossings.

In connection with the projected increase in sectional speed from 100 kmph to 110 kmph, the General Manager performed a speedy trial in the Mariani-Simaluguri section during the halt at Simaluguri. This was a major step in increasing line capacity and cutting down on transit time.

Additionally, he examined the Powerhouse, ABSS works, the Railway Health Unit, Level Crossing Gate No. ST-115 (Traffic), and Point Nos. 31 and 31A at the Mariani end. In addition, the NFR general manager spoke with employees about municipal amenities and assessed the state of the railway colony. On the occasion, he opened newly built staff quarters for community infrastructure and employee welfare as well as a newly designed railway playground.

In order to evaluate field-level safety procedures and track maintenance standards, additional inspections included Minor Bridge No. 524 and communication with Gang No. 18-DR’s track maintainer. The Traction Sub-Station (TSS) at Naharkatiya was examined to assess the traction power supply’s dependability. To guarantee track safety and structural integrity, the Switch Expansion Joint and Bridge No. 561 were also inspected.
