A study report, titled ‘Carbon Capture, usage, and Storage Policy Framework and its readying Mechanism in India’, was discharged. The report explores the importance of Carbon Capture, usage, ANd Storage as an emission reduction strategy to attain deep decarbonization from the hard-to-abate sectors. The report outlines broad level policy interventions required across varied sectors for its application.
India has updated its NDC targets for achieving five hundredth of its total put in capability from non-fossil-based energy sources, forty fifth reduction in emission intensity by 2030 and taking steps towards achieving web Zero by 2070, the role of Carbon Capture, usage, and Storage (CCUS) becomes necessary as reduction strategy to attain decarbonization from the hard-to abate sectors.
