Nissan Motor India has launched a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit for its popular SUV, the New Nissan Magnite. Priced at ₹74,999, the kit—developed and quality-assured by Motozen—offers an eco-friendly and fuel-efficient alternative to traditional fuels. This retrofitment is initially available across seven states, including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka, and will expand nationwide in a phased rollout.
Available exclusively for the 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual transmission, the kit provides enhanced fuel economy and complies with all local safety and regulatory standards. Retrofitment will be conducted only at government-authorised centres, with a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty offered on the kit by Motozen.
Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India said, “The New Nissan Magnite has been a phenomenal product for us and has led the success story in India. With a view to meet the requirements of customers, Nissan Dealerswill provide an alternate fuel option in the form of a government-approved CNG retrofitment kit which will be carried out at the authorised fitment centres for customers. We are confident that this move will enhance the popular compact SUV’s value proposition and practicality.” In Guwahati, the introduction of this retrofitment is expected to attract price-conscious and sustainability-driven buyers, especially as urban consumers seek alternatives amid rising fuel costs. Dealers in the Northeast anticipate positive uptake as CNG infrastructure expands. Nissan remains fully committed to India, with a robust, future-ready product line-up and a clear trajectory to meet its business and growth goals.
