Nissan posts 218% domestic sales surge as TEKTON drives growth momentum

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) has reported a sharp turnaround in its domestic business, posting a 218% year-on-year increase and a 50% month-on-month rise in domestic wholesale volumes for July 2026, aided by the launch of the all-new Nissan TEKTON SUV and an expanding product portfolio.

The company said it recorded domestic wholesales of 4,518 units, export wholesales of 4,821 units and total wholesales of 9,339 units during the month. Customer deliveries of the all-new Nissan TEKTON began across India on July 20, following its global premiere on July 9, strengthening Nissan’s SUV lineup alongside the Magnite and Gravite.

Nissan Motor India Managing Director SaurabhVatsa said the strong domestic wholesale growth reflects rising customer confidence in the brand and marks an important milestone in the company’s growth journey. He said the TEKTON, launched as Nissan celebrates 75 years of SUV heritage, combines design inspired by the iconic Nissan Patrol with advanced safety features, superior driving dynamics and enhanced comfort. Vatsa added that the vehicle, supported by the Nissan Care package, is expected to strengthen customer experience and support the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Ahead of customer deliveries, the TEKTON completed a record-setting expedition recognised by the India Book of Records, with a convoy of 60 SUVs travelling from Chandigarh to Leh via the 16,703-foot-high Shinku La through the Zanskar region, earning the title of the “Largest Convoy of Single-Model 4-Wheeler to Reach Leh.”

Nissan said it is also expanding its retail and service network nationwide as it transitions from a single-product portfolio to a three-product SUV lineup, with a continued focus on improving accessibility, customer convenience and ownership experience.

In Guwahati, Nissan’s expanded SUV portfolio is expected to strengthen its presence in Assam and the wider Northeast, where demand for robust SUVs remains strong due to varied terrain and increasing infrastructure development. Industry observers believe the introduction of the TEKTON, supported by an expanding dealership and service network, could help Nissan attract more customers in Guwahati while intensifying competition in the region’s fast-growing premium SUV segment.
