Nissan introduces The Arc, a new business plan aimed at enhancing value and competitiveness

Nissan Motor has launched The Arc, a new business plan aimed at driving value and strengthening competitiveness. The plan includes a broad product offensive, increased electrification, new engineering and manufacturing approaches, adoption of new technologies, and strategic partnerships for global unit sales and profitability.

Nissan aims for a 1-million-unit sales increase and a 6% operating profit margin by 2026. The company plans to launch 30 new models, including 16 electrified ones, by 2026, and refresh 60% of its ICE passenger vehicles by the same year. Nissan President and Chief Executive Officer Makoto Uchida said: “Faced with extreme market volatility, Nissan is taking decisive actions guided by the new plan to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.”

The company also plans to enhance its EV competitiveness by reducing the cost of next-generation EVs by 30%. The company plans to reduce next-generation EV costs through a “family” development approach starting in fiscal year 2027. Strategic partnerships will be expanded into technology, product portfolio, and software services. Dividends and buybacks aim for a 30% total shareholder return. New business ventures could generate 2.5 trillion yen in additional revenues by 2030.
