Nissan India logs 75% sales growth in April, driven by GRAVITE demand

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. reported a strong 75 per cent year-on-year growth in domestic sales in April 2026, marking a robust start to the new financial year amid rising demand for its SUV portfolio in India. The company on Friday said it recorded total sales of 5,388 units in April 2026, including 3,203 units in the domestic market and 2,185 units through exports. The automaker said growing customer interest in its expanding product range, especially the all-new Nissan GRAVITE, helped drive the sales momentum.

According to the company, the GRAVITE has gained traction among buyers for its seven-seat modular design, comfort and everyday usability. The New Nissan Magnite also continued to strengthen the company’s presence in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. Commenting on the performance, Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the strong response to the GRAVITE and continued demand for the Magnite reflected changing consumer preferences and boosted the company’s confidence ahead of planned product launches and network expansion this financial year.

In Guwahati, automobile dealers said demand for compact and family-oriented SUVs has remained strong, particularly among middle-class buyers looking for practical multi-purpose vehicles. Industry observers noted that models like the Nissan Magnite and GRAVITE are witnessing growing interest in Northeast markets due to their pricing, space and suitability for varied road conditions. The company said it will continue focusing on customer-centric innovation, expanding dealership networks and strengthening its footprint across key Indian markets.
