Nissan Formula E Team has partnered with Coral Eyewear for a multi-year deal, providing sunglasses and apparel made from recycled plastic and plant-based materials to all Nissan Formula E Team members during the 2023/24 campaign and beyond. In addition, the marque will release special edition Nissan Formula E Team sunglasses, decorated with team colors and logos, ahead of the inaugural Tokyo E-Prix at the end of March.
Coral Eyewear, a sustainability-focused brand, is partnering with Nissan Formula E Team to promote sustainable fashion. The partnership will allow the Japanese team, including drivers Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz, to leverage the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship’s exposure. Coral Eyewear, founded in 2019, offers stylish, luxury eyewear using recycled and plant-based production methods.
The company, which has been invested in by English television presenter Jake Humphrey, is the first British brand to use ECONYL® regenerated nylon in their eyewear, reducing CO2 emissions by 65,100 tons per 10,000 tons of raw material spent. The brand uses recycled paper and PET in packaging and glasses cloths, and their delivery partner, DPD, operates 1,600 electric vehicles in the UK for sustainability. Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “I look forward to working with Coral Eyewear to achieve our shared goals over the coming years.”
