Nissan expands CNG retrofitment for Magnite to 6 more states amid rising demand

Nissan Motor India has launched Phase 2 of its CNG retrofitment initiative for the New Nissan Magnite across six additional states—Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu—driven by rising customer demand for affordable and sustainable mobility.

The retrofitment kit, developed by government-approved third-party vendor Motozen, is priced at ₹74,999 and comes with a 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty. It is compatible with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (manual transmission) and is installed at government-authorised centres. The New Magnite retains its 336-litre boot space, one of the best in its class. Following the successful rollout in seven states during Phase 1, Nissan now offers the CNG option in 13 states. Phase 3 preparations are already underway.

Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, said, “The Phase 2 rollout reflects both the growing demand for cleaner mobility and our commitment to offering credible, high-quality alternatives.” In Guwahati, auto dealers noted a surge in inquiries after Phase 1, with buyers appreciating the Magnite’s low running cost and robust features. The expansion is expected to boost sales further, especially among environmentally conscious urban consumers in the Northeast.
