Nissan Motor India has achieved its highest consolidated annual sales in seven years, clocking over 99,000 units in FY2024-25, propelled by the strong performance of the New Nissan Magnite. This marks a 35% year-on-year growth, with domestic sales at over 28,000 units and exports hitting a historic high of over 71,000 units under the company’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy. The New Nissan Magnite, launched in October 2024, played a central role in this success, gaining momentum in both domestic and international markets. Nissan expanded its export footprint from 20 to over 65 countries, including left-hand-drive (LHD) markets like Saudi Arabia, reinforcing India’s role as a vital manufacturing hub.
In Guwahati, market observers noted a steady rise in interest for the Magnite due to its segment-first features and affordability amidst rising fuel prices. Local dealerships reported increased footfall and bookings, crediting the vehicle’s new E20 compliance and bold design for attracting younger buyers.
Amid restructuring efforts, Nissan reassured stakeholders of its continued presence in India, announcing new product launches including a 7-seater B-MPV in FY25 and a 5-seater C-SUV in FY26. The company also plans a price hike of up to 3% for the Magnite from April 2025 to offset input cost pressures. “Nissan is here to stay,” affirmed Frank Torres, President of Nissan India Operations, emphasizing the company’s mid-term plans and sustained investment in India.
