In August 2024, the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Asoni plan was first introduced to encourage approximately 10 lakh girls to pursue higher education. At 11 AM, the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Sarusajai will host the central check distribution for the second phase of the program. Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister, will grace the occasion. This effort was organized by the Department of Higher and School Education. The event’s main goal is to empower and encourage ladies to pursue their aspirations of being educated.
Among the distinguished attendees will be Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, as well as several MPs and MLAs, including Smti Bijuli Klita Medhi, Shri Siddhartha Bhattacharjee, Shri Atul Bora, Shri Hemanga Thakuria, and Shri Diganta Kalita. According to sources, this phase will provide financial aid to 3.5 lakh pupils. It will keep highlighting the government’s initiatives to support girls’ education at SCERT institutes, secondary schools, and higher education. In the past, 1.6 lakh girls received Rs 133 cr in grants.
According to district-level data, the areas with the largest numbers of beneficiaries include Kamrup Metro, Nagaon, Barpeta, and Cachar. This year, 3,50,265 girls from various districts will gain something. The effort aims to avoid child marriage, promote emotional maturity before to marriage, and increase the number of girls enrolled in higher education. Its main focus is on safeguarding children’s rights to safety, health, and education. The program will be another important step in the Assam government’s efforts to guide the youth toward a brighter and more promising future.
