Farmers in India will be able to protect their crops and boost productivity with the launch of Exponus® insecticide by BASF. It is powered by BASF’s new active ingredient Broflanilide® in a specialized formulation.
Exponus® gives farmers a powerful, quick & versatile tool for controlling a variety of insect pests and overcoming resistance to prevailing chemistries, as part of the integrated pest management program. It is registered for use on various largely cultivated crops under Oil seeds, Pulses & Vegetable segments to control critical insect pests such as Caterpillars & Thrips. It is among the first compounds in the market introduced under the new IRAC group 30 which represents a totally new class of insecticides (Group 30—meta-diamides and isoxazolines) that has no known cross-resistance with existing products in the market, making it a superior insecticide resistance management tool.
A valuable aspect of Exponus® insecticide is its ability to be effective on the toughest resistant insects by spreading and acting fast thereby resulting in the quickly controlling of multiple insects in different crops at various stages.
The Managing Director of BASF India Limited Narayan Krishnamohan said, “Farmers in India will now benefit from our latest innovation in crop protection.”
