On Wednesday evening, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Dinesh Goswami Flyover in Guwahati’s Bharalumukh area, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion. This 1.05-kilometer flyover, constructed at a cost of Rs. 99 crores through collaboration between state and central governments, facilitates uninterrupted vehicle movement over a railway line, enhances safety by reducing accidents at railway crossings, and eases traffic at a critical intersection. The flyover honors the late former Union Minister Dinesh Goswami. Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Saraighat War Memorial at Panbazar, honoring martyrs of the historic Battle of Saraighat and featuring inscriptions for 132 warriors, while also launching the third phase of the Brahmaputra Riverfront Park project, which includes a pond with a musical fountain. Future plans mentioned include preserving the former residence of the Gauhati High Court’s chief justice as a heritage site and establishing a textile museum.
