Netflix drops trailer of ‘Accused’, psychological drama on power and public scrutiny to premiere Feb 27

Netflix has unveiled the trailer of Accused, a psychological drama thriller directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Dharma Productions. Starring Konkona Sensharma and Pratibha Rannta, the film will premiere on February 27 on the streaming platform. The trailer offers a tense glimpse into the life of Dr. Geetika Sen, a respected surgeon and gynaecologist whose world begins to collapse after allegations of sexual misconduct surface at her workplace. As public scrutiny intensifies, the strain spills into her marriage with Dr. Meera. Set against a backdrop of emotional restraint, the film avoids sensationalism and instead explores ambiguity, power, bias and the fragility of truth.

Director Anubhuti Kashyap said the film explores “what happens when we are denied clarity,” adding that the story resists easy answers. Konkona Sensharma described her character as a woman accustomed to control who faces internal collapse under scrutiny, while Pratibha Rannta called the narrative a “real, complicated story about women.”

In Kolkata, Netflix continues to see strong engagement for layered, performance-driven dramas. Industry observers note that urban audiences in Kolkata are increasingly drawn to psychological thrillers and women-led narratives on OTT platforms, positioning Accused as a strong contender in the city’s digital viewership landscape. Accused premieres on February 27, exclusively on Netflix.
