In a post on X, Narendra Modi said, “A great day for Assam! For the third consecutive time, the NDA government assumes office. Congratulations to Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on taking oath.”
He added that Sarma has made a mark as an excellent administrator and has carried out pioneering work for the state. The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes for the new tenure.
Modi further congratulated newly inducted ministers Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro and Ajanta Neog, expressing confidence that they would help strengthen Assam’s development journey.
Responding to the Prime Minister’s message, Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked him for attending the swearing-in ceremony and said Modi’s vision and leadership had played a key role in Assam’s progress over the last decade.
“Your guidance throughout has been the biggest motivating factor for our government. It is your leadership and vision which has guided us in our path of service and dedication,” Sarma said.
Describing the moment as emotional, Sarma said he was honoured to reaffirm his oath as the “Mukhya Sevak” of Assam and pledged to continue working for the welfare and aspirations of the people.
“With the blessings of Kamakhya Temple, Srimanta Sankardev and the people of Assam, I took oath as Chief Minister. Along with the Council of Ministers, we look forward to serving our people and fulfilling their aspirations,” he said.
