A day after a video showed Nana Patekar slapping a fan for clicking a selfie with him on the sets, the actor shared his side of the story in a new video posted by ANI. He says that beating a boy was part of a scene in his next film, and he thought the fan was actually a crew member who was supposed to be part of the scene, but later found out that he was a real fan.
Speaking in Hindi, Nana says in the video, “Namaskar. A video is going viral where I hit a boy. There is a sequence in the film where a boy comes from behind and says, ‘Hey old man, do you want to sell your hat?’ And I catch him, beat him and tell him to behave properly and he runs away.”
Further explaining, he says, “Although this sequence is a part of our film, we had a rehearsal. We were supposed to do a second rehearsal. The director asked me to start. We were about to start when the guy in the video came in. In. I didn’t know who he was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him and I told him to leave. Later, I found out that he wasn’t one of the crew. So, I was going to call him but he ran away. Maybe his friend shot the video. I never told anyone to say no to the film. I don’t do that… It happened by mistake… If there’s some misunderstanding, please forgive me… I’m not going to do anything like that.”
