MSDE takes oath ‘Ab Koi Bahana Nahi’ against gender-based violence

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has launched a two-day capacity building program for officials under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013, in line with the annual campaign against gender-based violence. The inaugural session was convened in the presence of Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE, along with other senior officials of the Ministry along with representatives of UN Women.

Ms. Kanta Singh, Deputy Country Representative, UN Women India office, applauded MSDE’s efforts in preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and for organizing comprehensive capacity-building training for its entire staff, highlighting its commitment to fostering an enabling environment for women in the Ministry.

The officials of the Ministry also took a pledge– ‘Ab Koi Bahana Nahi’, four powerful words to put a stop to gender based violence. The two-day program aims to define Sexual Harassment and increase awareness about the complaint process, as part of MSDE’s proactive measures to create a safe workplace for women and empower them as economic agents for inclusive country growth. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary MSDE, expressed that “It is necessary that a safe a secure environment for all employees becomes a part of the workplace culture.”
